Welcome to the worlds of author MK Chester...
Since childhood, my imagination has been my best friend. At age ten, I ran out of books to read and thus began my journey into writing. It's true, you know...the only way to learn how to write is to write. I've had my share of false starts and bad endings, but the journey has been worth the investment. Today, I'm an active member of RWA and work with several other romance writers in a critique group to hone my skills.
My first novel, The Knot, was published by The Wild Rose Press in 2006, followed quickly by a short story titled "A Kiss on the Wind". In 2007 I joined a group of writers from The Wild Rose Press in an anthology titled The Legacy of the Celtic Brooch. My novella, "Bootlegger's Bride" was the first story I ever wrote "on demand". And finally, in 2008, my second novel, All in Good Time, was released to strong reviews. It has been a pleasure to publish in the Vintage Rose line at The Wild Rose Press.
Since the last release, I've taken a break to live my own whirlwind romance, marrying in August of 2008--that's why I'll be published under two different names! Now that things have settled down, I'm ready to step back inside my imagination and start creating new worlds, new characters, and new romances.
When I'm not writing, I spend time at the "day job" as a history professor and academic advisor. I also enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and pups, taking time to travel, and participating in sports. Please spend some time looking around, and contact me with any comments or questions--I love to hear from readers!
